Our lender, FLM, started lending in 2005 after a chat in a pub turned into an obsession with finding a way to make loans available to people with bad credit scores.

We knew that millions of people were being refused, or offered loans at crazy rates because according to a computerised score they were likely to default. We knew that computers could do lots of things really well, but judging a person's character didn't seem to be one of them.

After a few shandies the big idea struck. Ignore what the computer says and look at whether people are trusted by their friends and family. FLM is focused around one core principle - our customers and providing the best possible service to people who have been refused credit elsewhere.
