Decision Sciences is at the centre of all we do, customer insight is the heartbeat of CRM, and in this capacity the team undertakes work in five main areas:
• Data Planning/Consultative assignments
• Segmentation, Modelling and Scoring
• Data Analysis and Reporting
• Campaign Management
• Data Management
Overview:
This is a new role for an experienced Senior Data Analyst who wishes to develop their career within Data Planning.
Initially the main client will be a top 5 world brand and include responsibility for evaluating their world-renowned loyalty programme. This will involve measuring particular campaigns and promotional partnerships. This will involve accessing, manipulating and analysing data collected throughout the programme.
It is however envisaged that the role will develop very quickly to include providing data strategy and insight generation on a number of the agencies' other clients.
Measurement of Success
The following factors will be indicators of success in this role:
• Working with clients and colleagues to identify projects where data planning can be used to add value and develop insight
• Manage these projects to ensuring they are completed in a timely and accurate manner .
• The ability to command respect and loyalty from clients and colleagues across all internal departments
Key Responsibilities
• To develop data strategies and implement projects that contribute to clients business objectives
• To ensure clients and internal account teams are serviced to a high standards
• To actively manage and coach more junior members of the team to ensure strong performance standards are maintained, supported and developed
• To keep abreast of developments in the database marketing arena
Professional Experience, Technical Skills, Personal Qualities
Numerate, marketing or business degree with a minimum of 5+ years in a data analytics role.
Professional Experience
• Evidence of strong commercial acumen
• Strategic thinking ability and a lateral approach to business problem solving
• Ability to take a client brief and develop a strategic recommendations that could involve analysis or research
• Ability to plan campaigns and contact strategies, including experience of digital channels and channel metrics
• Experience of working with external list and data suppliers with proven ability of list buying, external profiling, data enhancements and data cleansing
• Proven understanding of statistical and analytical outputs with the ability to pull out key learnings, and turn into non-analytical insights to create comprehensive short, long term audience strategies and post campaign evaluation
• Strong document writing and presentation skills with the ability to create an insightful and understandable journey for the client with core recommendations for how the client develops both campaigns and their business to the next level of success
• Understanding of how databases are built and strong ideas of how they can be enhanced for the benefit of the business
• A strong track record of impressing both internal and external clients with their knowledge and experience of how data insight can drive successful campaigns
Technical Skills
• PC literate, with excellent skills in MS Office
• Experienced in statistical software (SPSS, SAS, Angoss)
• Experience of Alterian, Smartfocus or Faststats
• Exposure to Business Objects *
• Understanding of online measurement tools (Google Analytics, Web Trends)*

• Able to deliver key messages/presentations to clients in a jargon free way
• Confident enough to make well informed judgements to resolve problems on a wide range of issues
• Able to be sensitive to/listen to clients’ commercial needs, spotting opportunities for further insight
• Well organised and able to prioritise effectively
• People orientated and able to nurture and develop talent
