Global FMCG business is currently looking to recruit a Senior Customer / Category Marketing Manager to manage Carrefour in Europe and further afield.
The Customer Marketing Manager plays a key role within the Global Sales team, driving excellence in 4P execution in Carrefour and supporting the Global Customer Marketing Director and Global Account Director. The GCMM manager will be expected to drive category management initiatives (together with local teams and customers) that will ensure the implementation of their Local Success Models.
The role will also focus on building expert knowledge in key categories and sharing this with the International Account Directors and Customers in order to build long term partnerships and increase profit and sales.
Further responsibilities will include leading the development and implementation of category management strategies for Carrefour through the use of shopper and consumer insights. This will focus on increasing in store presence for their categories, strengthening their brands, optimizing product assortment, placement and promotional strategy. This is a Global role with focus markets being: France, Italy, Spain, Belgium and Poland The GCMM manager will also support the Carrefour GAD in analysis / selling argumentation for Top to Tops and G4 negotiations
This role requires significant persuasion and influencing skills and the maturity to manage and engage with Key Account and Trade Marketing teams who will require “immediate added value”. Must be commercially astute and strong in creating compelling category selling argumentation to the trade. Can inspire confidence both internally and externally with customers. Does require travel to local markets (accounts for 30% of the time).
For this role you must have prior trade marketing and/or customer management experience with blue chip, fast moving consumer goods company. Ideal experience would include:
Sales/Key Account function working with key customers (e.g., Wal*Mart, Tesco, Target) - Carrefour preferred.
Category management assignment including being a category “captain” , or “masse de marge” experience, with Carrefour or other key customer.
Worked on shopper and consumer insights – experience with market research and translating research into actionable insights with the customer.
Experience in working with the following: Retail Link, Nielsen / IRI data and panel data.
