Technical Director of Paid Search - £85K

My client is looking to recruit a Technical Paid Search Director at a partner level for this innovative and rapidly growing UK based Search Company.

As the TD you will be responsible for the following:

Responsibilities:

* Develop and execute leading edge paid search strategies and campaigns across a client base of enterprise level PPC accounts in the UK and within a growing global operation with activities in the US, Canada and Germany

* Test and develop innovative new theories, strategies and methodologies across the paid search process including keyword research, account structure, targeting, ad copy, bid management, data analysis, landing page and click path optimization

* Autonomy and ultimate responsibility for agency performance in PPC - meet and exceed client's objectives. Balance of active hands on work and a management role overseeing the work, processes, growth and efficiency of our team

* Manage and develop a small but growing team of experienced analysts. Implement new processes and structures to improve service, efficiency and performance. Resource planning and recruitment of new analysts and other roles as required to complement our PPC services

* Active participant or follower of the global search community, plugged into the latest thinking, trends and developments and able to transfer this knowledge to the wider team and to our clients campaigns

* Interface with our CTO to influence and advise on the development of innovative new proprietary tools and technology

* Interface with our Client Director and Head of SEO as a key member of the management team to optimize business performance

* Interface with the MD and New Business Director on the business development strategy, input and involvement in pitches and meetings with new prospects*

* Management of the PPC P&L to ensure the most efficient use of company resource in profitably delivering against our clients objectives*

The Ideal candidate:

* Extensive hands on experience in successfully managing and developing enterprise level paid search campaigns to achieve and exceed target

* Track record of innovative thinking and the implementation of advanced process, techniques and methodologies

* Deep technical understanding of the science of paid search. What influences quality score, what bid strategies are most effective, how to structure complex campaigns, ad copy optimization methodologies, use of match types, targeting and other search engine products

* Experience and deep understanding of key technologies in paid search such as second generation bid management tools (not Atlas, Dart, 24-7 or Bid Buddy), web analytics, keyword research and competitor analysis

* Understanding of natural search, social media and how these channels are brought together in an integrated search strategy

* Advanced Excel (Macros, Pivot tables), GAP and GAiQ qualifications are a pre-requisite but the ideal candidate's knowledge will go far beyond this basic level.

* Currently working as an independent consultant, Head of Search at a technically proficient specialist search agency or as search lead in a client side or affiliate search marketing role managing a PPC budget in excess of 1m per annum.
