Job: Advertising and Marketing Executive, Asia Literary Review

Asia Literary Review is the first magazine of its kind in the Asian literary world. An exciting new English language quarterly devoted to reportage, documentary photography, travel writing, fiction and memoir, it is set to become essential reading around the world for anyone with a serious interest in Asia and the best writing from and about the region. Asia Literary Review follows the tradition of successful literary journals published in Europe and the USA by providing a view of the world that combines new fiction with eye-witness accounts and polemic. Addressing the needs of intelligent readers, every quarterly issue extends to at least 200 pages and contains the work of celebrated and established writers as well as new voices from Shanghai to Mumbai.

We are looking for a highly energetic and successful Advertising Sales and Marketing Executive to join our sales and marketing team in Hong Kong.

You will be responsible for prospecting, identifying opportunities, building new business relationships and generating revenue for print product and online to include run-of-book print ads and print advertising inserts. Focusing on growing existing accounts and acquiring new clients, this position will be primarily placing outbound sales calls (to include cold-calls), conducting face-to-face meetings, making sales presentations, follow ups and closing.

Requirements:

The successful candidate must have:

• Experience selling print advertising to media buyers at agencies, or selling directly to media buyers and advertising managers at organizations
• Experience selling "general" or "direct response" print ads into a monthly magazine, quarterly magazine or newspaper
• 2 - 3 years of media sales background 
• Superior communication and presentation skills in English Language
• Cantonese/Mandarin communication is definitely an advantage
• Ability to work independently and within a team 
• Undergraduate Degree preferred; preferably in a business-related discipline
• Immediate availability
