This category-leading international FMCG requires a commercial, analytical and strategic Category Manager / Category Development Manager to deliver category and channel growth based on strong shopper/customer insights and market /channel analysis with leading multiples in the Grocery channel.

Managing one direct report, you will play a vital role in the business planning process and delivering strategic direction and channel-specific plans. You will commercialize brand/portfolio strategy via in-store activities, a compelling Category Management and space planning approach, and strong customer relationships.

As Category (Development) Manager, key responsibilities will include:

-Developing strong, influential trade relationships through compelling, evidence-based presentations which sell the portfolio goals through retailer/shopper/consumer analysis and insights

-Create and deliver category reviews, other communication support materials and in-store brand materials within Grocery

-Cross-functional work with Brand, Sales, and Space Planning teams to ensure translation of the brand plans into effective programs of activity within specific channels/customers, and make sure implementation is achieved and monitored effectively

-Review channel trends on brand performance, providing insights and recommendations to senior management

-Work with the Insight team to ensure detailed insights and group performance measures by channel/customer are available to the Brand and Sales teams

With a top-tier UK retail background, preferably within FMCG, you will be someone who genuinely enjoys a challenge and passionate about commercial and personal growth. With a very strong understanding in consumer research, customer insights and Category Management, you will have proven experience in strategic influencing, developing strong relationships and commercial presentations.
