Stuff Magazine is looking for a sales manager to join and lead our talented and dynamic display sales team. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading the magazine in the constantly evolving and highly competitive market in which Stuff operates. Dealing with a high volume of the magazines core spending clients directly and overseeing our agency business the role requires a blend of excellent personal sales and management of all elements of running a successful magazine sales team.
Internally, you will have responsibility for one of Haymarket’s leading titles, a key part of the Consumer Electronics team responsible for generating approximately 20% of all Haymarket Consumer Electronics revenue. The ability to interface with all areas of the business and to work effectively as part of a team is essential in achieving your sales objectives within this role.
With the imminent launch of the Stuff Interactive i-pad edition (a Haymarket 1st) the role will require you to pitch beyond the traditional press remit incorporating i-pad, special projects and digital activity to your clients. We are looking for a creative and tenacious individual with a go-get attitude and a desire to work within a fast and demanding environment. The role will require a tenacious sales approach and a pedigree in managing successful teams with a ‘lead by example’ approach.

Be the face of Stuff Magazine both internally and in our market,
Ensure Stuff Magazine is at the forefront of agencies minds and core and non core market share is outperforming our competitors,
Achieve a high level of personal sales for the magazine and into other areas of the CE group,
Internal reporting: Forecasting, sales planning and budgeting for Stuff,
Product management: All financials and day to day management of flat planning, production support, editorial integration and all other aspects of magazine management,
Managing a Team of 3 sales staff in line with defined KPI metrics and provision of 1st class sales material,
Lead team with new revenue ideas across CE portfolio for existing and new platforms,
Sell into and help define the sales story for the Stuff i-pad edition.
A proven track record in media sales (linked to the CE market preferable but not essential)
Some level of management experience,
Excellent communication, negotiation and presentation skills,
Entrepreneurial attitude with a proven track record in delivering against budgets,
Ability to predict and pre-empt market conditions and an understanding of financial forecasting,
A desire to be a part of the CE industry and a passion for the Stuff brand,
Above all a highly motivated, can do, team 1st attitude to all aspects of your work.
