Horticulture Week is the leading media brand for the UK horticulture industry.
The magazine is complemented by a website that has recently become fully gated allowing only subscribers full and unlimited access. The brand covers the whole of UK horticulture operating in nine sectors.
The brand also encompasses three leading awards scheme, the BALI National Landscape Awards, the Garden Retail Awards and the Grower of the Year Awards which are typically attended by over 1,500 senior decision-makers.
Horticulture Week is synonymous with editorial quality, whether in print, online, at industry events or through its portfolio of supplements.
A core ad-driven title, the successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring they and their team secure in excess of £1m in commercial revenue in 2013. In addition to the core advertising revenue in print, key areas of focus for the Ad Manager include driving revenues on the content site, e-bulletins and all specials including many supplements and the three award schemes.
Essential:
An experienced (and highly motivational) people manager
An excellent sales person, with exceptional inter-personal skills
An ability to understand a market and create new ideas to maximise revenue potential
Diplomacy – the ability to manage both external and internal relationships
Forecasting knowledge and the ability to manage a budget (with multiple p&ls)
Experience in writing and delivering sales plans
