About the role

We’ve an incredible variety of stories to tell here at the National Trust. We’re a visitor attraction, a holiday provider, a retailer. We’re one the nation’s largest landowners and its most extensive museum. We’re a business, a charity, a lobbying organisation. And we need to make sure that we’re effectively telling all these stories, helping more people to enjoy the special places we look after, to get involved with them, be inspired by them, and love them as much as we do. That’s why we’ve created our own internal marketing agency. Its aim is to deliver exceptional marketing campaigns and to challenge the Trust to realise new opportunities through marketing. This is an exciting time to join a new team at the National Trust.

We want you to drive the delivery of an effective marketing strategy and outstanding client service. You’ll work with an incredible variety of internal clients on a fascinating array of campaigns; whether it’s a national visitor marketing campaign, a membership drive, or advertising our retail offer, you’ll bring strategy, insight and creativity to every single piece of work. As well as being the focal point for all major campaigns and an enthusiastic advocate for the agency, you’ll be an inspiration to your team and indeed the wider agency. You’ll manage Marketing Managers and Marketing Executives, and help them to further develop their skills, knowledge and, ultimately, their contribution to the agency. As part of the agency’s Senior Management team, you’ll also have an important say in how the agency is run.

Please note that internally this role will be known as Senior Marketing Manager.

About you

Agency (internal or external) experience is a must. Credible, authoritative and tenacious, you’ll be used to developing, running and delivering large scale multimedia marketing campaigns. It goes without saying that you have superb account and project management skills. And not only do you have encyclopaedic and up-to-the-second marketing knowledge, including all things digital, but you’re the type of person who loves to be at the centre of agency life. You’re also confident with large budgets, adept at managing contracts and vendors, and comfortable working on a number of big campaigns at any one time. You’re a superb communicator too and when you talk, people listen. You’ll already love our brand and what we do, and you’ll embrace the opportunity to take us onto the next chapter in our history.
