The role -
Working as part of the agency team with a major, international energy company the main part of this role is responsibility for end-to-end planning support to optimise performance of a multi-channel comms programme across a 10+ markets. Engaging directly with global and local marketing clients as well as a broad internal delivery team the role will support evolution of the programme as it integrates new channels and incorporates additional data sources to refine engagement with customers.
Key elements of the role include; support to comms strategy development, engaging senior clients to consult on campaign design at global and local levels, challenging and clarifying the client brief, design and localisation of individual campaigns, set up of cross-channel air traffic control rules, writing detailed campaign and creative briefs, supporting creative development, management of detailed test and learn plan, working with analysts to understand campaign and test performance, interpretation of results and to make recommendations, feedback to client.
The ideal candidate is a hybrid planner / client lead who can consult on communications programme and campaign design and also work up detailed plans and brief delivery.
Comms programme and campaign design: Evolving the existing comms and campaign strategy based on availability of new data sources; access to new channels; interpretation of results and findings; evolution of local market conditions, competitive landscape and broader marketing initiatives. This part of the role requires the ability to assimilate large amounts of information from various sources into a clear and compelling story that can be used to support recommendations and galvanise the client and team behind next steps. It also involves description and presentation of concepts, ideas and plans to the client and internal teams.
Client Management: Working with client to optimise the plan at global and local levels. This part of the role involves creating strong relationships with clients as a trusted advisor on comms solutions planning, introducing new ideas and ways to improve performance whilst balancing against delivery capability. Being prepared to challenge the client with sound rationale as required is important. This role carries a responsibility to be the 'voice of the customer' and to challenge clients in this respect in a positive and professional manner.
Creative: Responsible for ensuring that the Creative Teams are fully briefed and provided with all necessary background information. Internally critiquing work to ensure that it answers the client's brief. Attending creative presentations, presenting creative work and soliciting feedback. Managing & challenging client feedback to ensure that it is clear and reasonable and keeping number of amends to a minimum.
Campaign brief writing: Responsible for detailing planning related components in the campaign brief e.g. targeting, selections and exclusions, contact channels and air traffic control rules, offer details, test and learn requirements.
Comms insight development: Working with insight analysts on comms related analysis projects including deep dive results interpretation and wider exploratory analysis projects.
Timeline management: Responsible for ensuring all projects are carefully managed in terms of time. Liaise with client and internal stakeholders if timings are in jeopardy and proactively improve process with both client and internal stakeholders to improve efficiencies.
Required experience -
- Exceptional experience in insight led multi-channel campaign design and brief development
- Exceptional experience in the development and delivery of ongoing CRM / Loyalty programmes for multinational blue chip organisations.
- Passion for insight and data driven strategies & campaigns, representing the 'customer voice'
- Exceptional experience in the management of clients at all levels.
- Strong experience working with retail clients.
