Business Development Manager,IT/Tech, £45k

London£40000 to £45000 per annum

This is a fantastic opportunity to join a leading membership body representing the dynamic UK technology industry. Their current portfolio of services includes escrow and training and they are now looking for a new manager to lead the development of these services.

This is a very hands-on role where you will be responsible for all aspects of the sales, marketing and delivery of services. You will work with a series of partners and suppliers to offer services; specifically in delivering an annual programme of 50 training courses and managing and promoting the software escrow service.

The ideal candidate will have proven experience within a business service or training environment, together with a demonstrable track record driving sales and marketing activities.


Responsibilities

Product Development
- Participate in and drive service product evolution and development
- Contribute to service product development

Marketing
- Take responsibility for full marketing mix
- Conduct market analysis
- Develop pricing strategies
- Drive marketing communications activities
- Gather competitive intelligence
- Send out high level member communications in line with company values
- Analyse market trends and member needs to make recommendations on ways to grow revenues

Sales
- Maximize sales and profitability
- Conduct Service Product Marketing presentations for key members
- Develop and deliver effective channel, product and member marketing plans
- Develop and execute prospecting strategies for new members
- Drive the acquisition of new business in line with agreed budgets
- Achieve personal sales and objectives

Relationship Management
- Establish and maintain key relationships with members and stakeholders
- Develop on-going relationships with members to create opportunities
- Build and maintain relationships with key partner organisations,
- To account manage and grow revenues for a group of existing members

Service Delivery Management
- Ensure that the escrow and training services are delivered efficiently and to a high standard.
- Develop and maintain appropriate professional standards


Skills and Capabilities

- Ability to generate new opportunities and growth through marketing, relationship development and selling
- Able to clearly understand and interpret contract requirements and customer needs
- A good understanding of contract law: a law degree or equivalent would be ideal
- A sound knowledge of the sales process
- Ability to determine priorities, set realistic timescales and organise time effectively
- Ability to work in a demanding but collegial environment where teamwork is essential
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent knowledge of Microsoft applications
