Account Manager

We currently have an exciting opportunity for an Account Manager to join us in London.

Our Client is a dynamic business development agency based in SW London.  They offer outsourced business development programmes and B2B marketing programmes. Their focus is largely, but not exclusively, in the marketing communications and retail sectors.

Our client employs senior personnel from agency or client side backgrounds, which is core to its proposition and ensures a strategic and consulting role for its clients.  The atmosphere is informal but professional, the pace is comfortable with regular bursts of intense activity around new client work and reviews.

The Business Role

Our client helps marketing services companies develop their business mainly by identifying and providing meeting and pitch opportunities. They provide strategic input at the planning stage, captured in a campaign plan, which is the backbone of their new business activity for each client. To succeed they require a pragmatic tenacity, confidence in communicating and ability to engage with senior decision makers.

We currently have an exciting opportunity for an Account Manager to join us in London.

Account Manager – Responibilites for the role include:

The overall role of account manager is to successfully manage and develop a new business programme on behalf of a designated client. In this role you will operate as a Business Development Director for your Client.  The objective is to build and develop relationships amongst potential customers for your client, ultimately working towards securing a meeting for the Client and ideally a brief.

The role requires development and execution of marketing campaigns and day to day client management, both internal and external.  The executive will need to demonstrate an understanding of the client’s market and the ability to think strategically, as well as a strong understanding and passion for sales and marketing.

The executive will need to be able to pitch ideas and proposals on behalf of the Client and manage and co-ordinate meetings and calendars as well as ongoing support and relationship management with the Client’s prospects

Account management functions:

- Agreement of proposition with client

- Agreement of prospect data – Client target markets/ desired market sectors

- Contact identification through desk research, online tools

- Cold calling: Telephone and email contact with new prospects

- Telephone and email follow-up and database management

- Weekly and monthly reporting to client and maintaining client relationship

Account Manager – Essential skills required:

The applicant must be an excellent communicator, highly organised and proactive, with good knowledge of Microsoft Office.

Good at communication – the job involves cold calling, so the candidate must be able to persuade senior prospect clients over the phone as well as maintain a strong relationship with the Client team.  The ability to make numerous phone calls and to deliver your client’s proposition in a compelling manner is paramount; this will account for a high percentage of your working day.

The ability to write well is imperative.

Attention to detail is core to the role, both in reporting/admin and in dealing with the Prospect and Client feedback.

As our Account Manager you will have 3-5 years marketing communications experience ideal (either client or agency side) for conversations with senior marketing decision-makers and good knowledge of marketing techniques and issues. You will also have Client-facing experience and Business Development experience
