Business Development Account Director
Rainmaker is the UK's most influential and successful new business services supplier. It is also the founder and consultancy arm of the Intelligent New Business Group, which includes the business information company Pearlfinders, and the recruitment and training consultancy Blossom. Together we are a 65-strong community of new business professionals based in Clerkenwell, London, and Manhattan, New York, with an international reach that includes Asia.
Each working day our group helps over 500 companies win new business through a combination of primary research, strategic advice, direct representation, sales communications and HR consultancy. Our clients include most of the leading marketing agencies (Saatchi & Saatchi, Ogilvy & Mather, Porter Novelli, DDB etc., but also health specialists, sports rights holders (The Premier League, Manchester City, Mercedes-Benz GP etc.) and increasingly organizations across a wide range of industries including Cable & Wireless, AXA PPP, LG, IBM, Willis, AEG, and Warner Bros.
We are the largest new business group because we are the most successful. Since 1996 we have supplied almost £1.5bn in opportunities, from which our clients have converted an initial value of £350m in new accounts.
Rainmaker now seeks an Account Director to lead a team of business developers and plan and direct new business campaigns for its clients. This is a great opportunity for someone wishing to move to the next level and join the best-resourced and most effective team in its field.
Reporting to the Head of Client Services, your primary remit will be the delivery of clients' growth objectives and the profitable development of their accounts.
The Account Director role requires a thorough understanding of the new business environment in the marketing services industry and a passion for brands and marketing technique. You will have the character to consult with and handle demanding clients who expect high levels of pro-activity and delivery within challenging timeframes.
Other key attributes of a successful Account Director include: -
- First rate sales skills with the energy and hunger to head up all prospecting activity. You must be an experienced closer with the flair and intelligence to drive truly creative new business outreach
