Marketing Manager
Job Description:

As the Marketing Manager at Haymarket Conferences, you will be a highly motivated direct marketer who combines strong analytical skills with a commitment to creative marketing. You will have complete bottom-line responsibility for creating tradition and digital marketing plans for our conferences. You will be responsible for forging relationships with external partners whilst also focusing on liaison with other related internal departments such as database research, sponsorship, telesales and the brands.

This position will report directly to the Marketing Director: Conferences, Forums and Managed Events.

Day to day responsibilities:

  • Deliver campaigns to ensure KPIs are met for paid for registrations and lead generation
  • Detailed response analysis
  • Forging strategic marketing partnerships with associations, publications and research organizations
  • Creating innovative traditional and digital marketing plans
  • Creating &managing event budgets
  • Querying of internal databases and database build
  • Writing copy promotional materials (including advertorials)
  • Working closely with other internal departments such as telesales, sponsorship sales, customer service, conference production and the magazine team
  • Working with list brokers, designers, printing companies, mail houses and other vendors
  • Working closely with speakers and sponsors to gain their buy in to promote our events through their available promotions channels
  • Work closely with other internal marketing teams to ensure cross-promo (i.e. subscriptions team)
  • PR and news releases
  • Creating social media campaigns around and facilitating groups

 

Qualities & Skills Required

  • University Graduate
  • 2:1 degree preferably gained within a business related subject
  • Commercial experience working in a direct marketing role, preferably gained within a b2b publishing, conference or exhibition marketing position
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong negotiator who thrives under pressure
  • Good combination of creative and analytical skills
  • Good time management - capable of meeting tight deadlines
  • Able to juggle multiple projects
  • Enthusiasm, drive & determination
  • Familiar with direct marketing principles
  • Excellent ability to work to tight deadlines
  • Strong team player and orientation towards teamwork
