Senior Account Manager - B2B / Channel Marketing

My client is a specialist IT marketing agency in South Buckinghamshire and they are looking for a senior account manager to work on a global IT account.

As senior account manager you will be expected to manage all client campaigns on brief, on time and on budget and deliver excellent customer service.  Also to take a lead role in the management and development of clients and support the AD in business processes and in mentoring the AMs. 

 ROLE RESPONSIBILITY

Campaign management:

·       Ensure work is completed accurately, efficiently and effectively – on brief, on time and on budget

·       Understand agency processes and systems and how to progress projects as efficiently as possible

·       Fantastic attention to detail  across all work – both client facing and internal

·       Ability to set and meet realistic expectations and to question client deadlines  when required

·       Communication

o   Understand the brief and amends

o   Ask questions when anything is not clear.

o   Communicate brief and amends clearly with the client and with studio

o   Always keep client updated on project status whether on time or delayed

·       Finance

o   Manage quoting process with a full understanding of margin requirements on projects

o   Ensure invoicing is managed effectively from agency and client perspective

o   Ensure quotes are clear to the client and that any additional costs are flagged as soon as possible

o   Work with AD to produce forecasts for the team and own the forecast for nominated accounts

o   Work with AMs to ensure profitability of jobs

Deliver excellent customer service:

·       Understand the client – their business, products, objectives, marketing ideas and creative likes and dislikes

·       Ensure “best-friend” status by delivering excellent customer service and following  “golden rules” – see attached

·       Understand each client’s expectations and deliver to those requirements

·       Keep in regular contact with all client contacts via phone

 

 

Be a marketing programs and marcomms expert:

·       Understand different marketing activities, when to use each one and how to optimise each activity

·       Ability to write and present campaign proposals to clients

·       Ensure campaigns that we deliver are the best that they can be (including ability to take the brief, add value through making additional recommendations, consult and influence client’s expectations)

·       Take ownership of projects from start to finish

·       Understand how to optimise design for each activity

·       Understand studio creation processes

·       Understand print production

·       Understand agency's digital services

Be proactive to develop client business:

·       Identify opportunities for additional services that we could provide to the client and work with the Account Director to deliver them

·       Keep on top of client developments (new products, people etc.)

·       Own the account plan for nominated accounts and drive their business development

·       Prepare and deliver presentations for new opportunities within clients

 

Help improve the business

·       Work to identify ways that we can improve our processes, service and deliverables

·       Work within the agency structure, if that isn’t working then refer to point above

·       Work to ensure that identified improvements are brought to other account teams

·       Ensure consistency of quotes, briefs and proposals across the team

 

Teamwork

·       Work within the team to provide support and help to others when needed; both within account teams and across the company

·       Be a day to day mentor for account managers in the team by understanding their projects and being available for support
