Core Purpose of Role
The role owns and executes our marketing and communications strategy across the eleven markets in which we work with Tesco, in support of our business strategy.
Key audiences to engage are:
Internal: our people
External: our existing clients and prospects
External: the press and our industry sectors
Working closely with the Tesco Markets Leadership, our client teams and our Group Marketing function the job holder will be accountable for:
Engaging our people through consistent messaging across multiple channels (intranet, company events, employee email campaigns, leadership presentations) and helping deliver the 'dunnhumby experience'
Engaging current and potential clients in our value proposition and supporting client relationship development (client events, targeted email communications, collateral around our tools and services, thought leadership, supporting conference speakers)
Developing and protecting our brand (press relations, collaboration with Tesco External Relations, internet)
Owing to the diverse and dispersed nature of our markets, some work will involve the management of agencies to execute locally. We are currently piloting this model in one market.
The job holder will have direct access to some resources for execution of the plan and also a support network across markets, in addition to selective agency support.
This is not only a 'managing' role. The job holder must have strong content creation skills in order to write or review compelling communications for the intranet, leadership messages, external presentations, etc

Degree from credible academic institution
Strong understanding of marketing communications across multiple channels
Understanding of methods for employee engagement
Marketing Communications experience in a progressive, brand-oriented organisation
Proven success in both strategy and execution in support of business strategy
Successful event management
Experience in a marketing a business to business company such as a consultancy or agency
