The Agency

A fantastic, global integrated agency, based in an enviable West London location is looking to employ an experienced Digital Director.

The agency produces fantastic, award-winning work, spanning below and through the line channels. The agency has a variety of global / blue-chip clients in retail, FMCG, financial, fundraising, healthcare and travel. 

The agency is responsible for all strategy, creative and implementation projects across this client’s core direct-marketing channels. 

The Role

Reporting directly into the CCO, the Digital Director will be leading the agency’s front-end development function, inspiring clients through the creation of innovative experiences and essentially ensuring that the agency as a brand stay at the very forefront of technology.

As this agency’s Digital Director you will think of yourself as a Creative Technologist who is very much a practising developer. You will be fluent in cutting edge technologies and act as a guide and inspiration to the agency’s development team.

The Digital Director will build prototypes, inspire creative teams, help designers understand exactly what is possible and work closely alongside the User Experience Director and Technical Solutions Lead.

The Candidate

The agency is looking for someone dynamic and ambitious who has excellent client-facing skills and experience. The Digital Director will be expected to be the lead within the development team, managing the team day to day, yet also helping to grow the agency’s digital offering, both internally and with clients. 

The Digital Director will have strong agency experience and hands-on development skills. 

Advanced development knowledge of the following is essential:

-       HTML, CSS and front-end development technologies and techniques (JavaScript, XML and JQuery)

-       PHP

-       Experience of Open Frameworks, Python, Ruby(preferred)

Ideally, the Digital Director will also have the following:

-       Extensive experience in deep interactive development with a portfolio of impressive work

-       Understanding of the mobile space and any specific platform development

-       Extensive mobile app and mobile web development experience

-       Experience in managing outside digital production vendors

-       Bachelor’s Degree and solid understanding of software engineering methodologies.
