Art Director

London£40000 per annum



Our client is a global media company that includes print, event, music, online, television, and feature film divisions. They are a Leader in original video for the web. In the design department, they're responsible for all creative deliverables. This includes everything from email blasts and social apps, to complex multi-platform communities driven by award winning editorial. Every week is different and they are constantly growing and adapting to the form that best suits each individual function.

They're looking for an Art Director to help drive the visual language across our branded projects. The suitable candidate will have a thorough knowledge of communication design, will be just as comfortable working on a magazine as they would a website, and would know how to make a large campaign spanning multiple elements feel like they are from the same family. You will have a strong portfolio of past projects showing your ability to develop innovative ideas, provide inspirational art direction and think strategically and commercially, while producing on-brand content. Ideally, the candidate will have 6+ years' experience in an integrated agency or brand where he/she has had experience managing and motivating a small team of designers and created some great work. As this role will be a large part communication, it is also essential that the candidate has had considerable experience with senior clients, and has a track record of work showing that they are able to get the best work out of them. We are looking for people not only with an interest in design and associated subjects, but also with an interest in the world around them and a strong portfolio of effective, useful and beautiful work.

Looking for the Art Director to stay current with and constantly improve all core design‐related skills (Adobe Creative Suite, Photography, knowledge of new materials and techniques, alongside other relevant software ie Keynote, Flash, etc).

* Ability to scamp ideas and brief a team clearly

* Expert understanding of the print process and latest print related trends

* High level of understanding and experience designing for interaction

* Design knowledge that isn't bound by the screen or for print - ie the ability to think about design solutions that best solve problems.

* Familiar with the latest digital technologies and their uses/limitations
