The Technology Director leads technical strategy, product development, experimentation, and innovation. This role works in collaboration with creative, planning and client account teams to deliver digital solutions that bring the story, experiences and brand narrative to life.

You will have an instinctive and passionate understanding of relevant technologies, and a pragmatic, hands-on approach to problem solving. The Technology Director is also a leader that provides guidance and growth opportunities for the team, and is a technical advocate within the agency and the industry at large.

Desired Skills & Experience

Responsibilities:

Manage, grow and mentor the technology team.

Evaluate client briefs and work with consulting team as well as creative team on pitches and proposals that both meet consumer and client expectations, but also have a clear path for successful execution within defined parameters.

Manage day to day development on architectures, cyclically revising solutions, and guiding overall development progress towards successful deliverables.

Manage the overall QA process to ensure high quality, on-time technology deliverables; includes answering emails and delegating emergency work to developers off hours and weekends.

Ensure that development follows functional specifications and meets current industry standards as well as agency and client best practices.

Evaluate technology vendors and suppliers, negotiate agreements, and manage working relationships.

Provide ongoing management of live online properties in collaboration with client and vendors.

Assist in the evaluation, trial, and integration of new marketing technologies.

Develop thought leadership perspectives other intellectual property.

Develop the technology and innovation capability in Singapore and across Southeast Asia.

Requirements:

10+ years of experience in web technologies and architecture; agency or startup experience preferred.

Passionately curious about web and emerging technology trends and their application.

Strong experience with all aspects of tech planning including creating timelines, budgets and allocations for staffing needs, and vendor management.

Experience with various platforms including web, mobile, video, social and OOH.

Hands-on knowledge of key programming languages (Java, PHP, ActionScript, Javascript, Objective-C/Cocoa, Ruby on Rails, etc.), web application frameworks (Rails, Django, jQuery, Cake, etc.), and social technology API experience (Twitter, Foursquare, Facebook, etc).

Ability to create rapid mockups and prototypes of various Web and Media portals

Understanding of cloud computing applications and platforms including development of use of AWS, Google AppEngine, and Azure.

Explorations and visualizations of large data sets.

Experience and comfort in presenting complex ideas to large, diverse groups.
