3D Technical Artist - Maya, C++, Unity - London - £40,000 - £60,000

A leading games studio in London is seeking a talented 3D Technical Artist to supervise the creation of game pipelines and work-flows as well as ensure visual quality is not compromised.

You will have a portfolio demonstrating game design across all digital platforms for recognised games and global brands.


You'll be involved in:
*Designing and supervising the creation of game pipelines and work-flows, working in conjunction with Engineers and Art Leads.
*Working closely with Game Designer and Art Director to ensure that visual quality is not being compromised by technical constraints
*Regularly auditing and streamlining all art production methods( Including Environment Art, Modelling, Character Animation, Shading and Lighting )
*Acting as a bridge between Art and Engineering disciplines
*Solving technical production issues and building tools as needed
*Providing mentorship and sharing skills amongst the team

What you'll bring to the role:

*A general knowledge of the company, the smart phone and tablet gaming landscape, and the ability to identify likes and dislikes in other online games
*Excellent Technical Art, Computer Programming/Scripting experience (e.g. C++, MEL, Python, Etc…)
*Strong knowledge of game development software and techniques (e.g. Maya, Photoshop,Etc…)
*An appreciation and balance of both Art and Engineering concepts
*Excellent organisational, leadership, verbal and written communication skills
*The ability to move quickly and efficiently with a willingness to iterate
*A passion for learning new skills and techniques and sharing your experience with others

Desirable Skills:

*BS Degree in Computer Science, Graphic Art or related field
*Prior experience building rigs for realtime characters
*Prior experience building animation export pipelines for Maya
*Prior experience with Unity or a major Game Engine
*Knowledge of the children's games space a plus
Working knowledge of scrum and agile processes
