Our client is a leading sports participation company and responsible for the creation of many of the UK's highest profile events and programmes including the Sainsbury’s Sport Relief Miles, SkyRide and Royal Parks Foundation Half Marathon. They are looking to recruit a Marketing Director to join their expanding team. Reporting into the Chief Executive, the Marketing Director will be part of the agency’s leadership team and work with the rest of the leader ship team to define and deliver long term strategies that will help to achieve business goals.
The successful candidate will head up a department that is responsible for recruiting participants, building the brand of the agency’s properties, engaging with participants and their supporters as well as increasing the reach of events to the widest possible audience. They will lead a team that is responsible for social media, customer relationship management, direct marketing, content production and PR.
You must have a minimum of 7+ years industry experience either in house for an FMCG Brand or at a leading experiential agency. You should be able to work at a strategic level but also be happy to be hands on with the team. You must have a track record of the recruitment of new sign-ups for events or new audiences for media channels – this is non negotiable -and you must be extremely strong in digital marketing and social. You should also have a track record of building and developing new and / or existing brands, a broad understanding of how to assess the effectiveness of different campaigns and channels and a proven track record of leading a department or team.
In addition you must be passionate about sport, creative, enthusiastic, confident, highly motivated and have a good grasp of budget management .
