Mid-weight UI/UX Designer - Gambling - London - £30K-£40K
My client are a social gambling start-up and who are about to launch their first game. The founders of this exciting new start up are experienced leaders from the social and casino gaming space who have major financial backing and operational support from one of the biggest gambling companies in the UK. It's a great time to join the company as you have can get the best of both worlds, the flexibility of working for a small non-corporate company, but have the financial security and backing of a large corporate company. My client are expanding their design team to include another UI/UX designer, to work with their art lead. You will work closely with engineers and the product managers throughout all stages of the product cycle. As a UI/UX designer you are a critical thinker with a good design sense, a strong technical background, and an eye for making things better both from a user interface and user experience standpoint.
Day to Day duties;
*Working closely with the Art Lead and Product Manager to create in-game user interfaces,
transition screens, key menus with optimal user experiences
*Working to a functional and aesthetic brief, adapting to different art styles and keeping
consistency with the overall game style
*Providing creative input into defining the look & feel and design functionality
*Following the art creation process from concept through to completion
*Rapid creation of GUI artwork prototypes via designing and wire-framing feature ideas,
transition screens and key menus.
What my client are looking for:
*Social media/mobile app experience ideal
*A excellent sense of design quality perfection
*Demonstrable understanding of user interface design discipline sand principles
*Strong, clean and impactful visual design sense
*Demonstrated experience in designing usable graphical interfaces
*Excellent knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop and Illustrator in particular) and other
*Capable of rendering high fidelity layouts and icons
*Willing to learn new skills on the job
*Critical eye for detail and pixel perfection
*Be responsive to deadlines and work well under pressure in a highly iterative environment
*Understand and constantly improve the user and customer experience flow.
*Someone with a start-up attitude: who are highly motivated, energetic, and multi-talented;
who speak up and have plenty of ideas.
