Social Media Manager, Central London, £30K

You will be working with some of the UK’s biggest and best-loved brands online to build their social media presence.

Social Media Manager – The role

  • Develop and manage the online presence of clients on social networks (e.g. YouTube/Facebook/Twitter/Tumblr etc) and on other “owned” media including blogs
  • Devise and write client-facing reports on the level/tone/sentiment of online conversations
  • Monitoring (and reacting to) online conversations using a range of free and paid-for tools
  • Respond to conversations and comments in social media on behalf of those clients who have briefed us to do so, often based on protocols devised by the post holder in partnership with the client
  • Recommend and implement reactive social media strategies to clients and deliver real-time insight to account and client teams as required
  • Advising clients on appropriate widgets and tools to develop
  • Working with digital strategy team to support in development of social media strategies for both existing and new clients (to include pitching, winning new business )
  • Developing and implementing appropriate tracking and measurement tools to produce detailed reports on the effectiveness of our campaigns

Social Media Manager – Skills and experience

  • Must have proven demonstrable succes in pitching ideas/stories/content to site editors, blogs, forum admins etc. to deliver social media campaigns
  • Have experience setting up and using a range of the free and paid-for auditing tools available - ideally including Tweetdeck, Radian6 and Yahoo Pipes
  • Have a proven track record of effective written communications, including distilling data captured from monitoring tools into client-facing reports
  • Previous experience in online content-creation e.g. via experience of PR, journalism, or copywriting
  • Experience optimising content (both on and off site) for search
  • Experience liaising between a number of stakeholders within a large organisation
  • Experience collating information/dialogue from across social networks to report back to clients in dashboard and report form
  • Basic coding/site build skills (e.g. on Wordpress)
  • Experience blogging and/or advising others on blogging best practice
  • A basic understanding/experience of PPC and affiliate marketing
