Dyson – Malmesbury, Wiltshire
Dyson is all about invention and improvement. Our engineers are encouraged to challenge existing ideas and try unconventional methods to solve frustrating problems. The result is that our machines don’t necessarily fit within existing product categories, so we often develop our own – like cyclonic vacuum cleaners, fans without blades and taps that wash and dry hands at the sink.
About the role
Our Product Strategist is the linchpin between Dyson engineers developing these new machines and the marketeers that sell them in over 50 countries. You’ll help to steer new ideas from development to launch – a role that requires an in-depth understanding of our business and technology.
One minute you’ll be in discussion with engineers about technical details, or meeting marketing directors to decide pricing strategies. The next, you’ll be independently analysing data to assess competitive advantages and predict consumer preference. Throughout the process you’ll be working with experts in law, intellectual property, procurement, marketing, product standards, finance and testing.
You have around five years relevant experience and at least a basic understanding of what makes a successful product strategy. With very strong analytical skills, you’re extremely adept at digesting complex data and identifying commercial opportunities. Personable and confident, with an open style of leadership, you’ll be equipped to challenge the status quo – providing rigorous substantiation to back-up your insights. After all, you’ll be playing a big role in shaping our future product strategy. And like everyone at Dyson, you have endless enthusiasm for solving problems.

At Dyson, we invent new technology – machines that don’t necessarily fit within existing, traditional categories. So, we often develop our own.
