Cell Therapy Catapult, the UK's leading Cell Therapy development institution, is looking to recruit a Head of Communications and Public Relations to be based in their Central London offices at Guy's and St Thomas Hospital.

Role description

As the Head of Communications and Public Relations, reporting to the Chief Business Officer, you will take responsibility for all of the Company's internal and external communications to ensure continued growth and success both within the UK and abroad. This newly created role will be responsible for increasing awareness, developing the brand and managing global communications and PR campaigns.

The Head of Communications and Public Relations will be responsible for creating board approved strategies, and delivering these through strong internal relationships whilst working with third party suppliers, including consultants and agencies. Working closely with business development, operational teams and internal stakeholders, you will also implement communication strategies focussed upon on increasing market and stakeholder awareness and understanding, and enhancing the existing strong support for the Cell Therapy Catapult's mission.

Who we're looking for

As the Head of Communications and Public Relations, Cell Therapy Catapult will require you to be a competent and seasoned self starter who is looking forward to the challenge of leading their own internal and external group and working in a driven team environment.
Key skills that they are looking for are:
• Experienced in a B2B communications and a PR environment at a Senior level
• Highly experienced in liaising with agencies and senior stakeholders to promote the Company within the relevant media
• Experienced in implementing successful, integrated, strategic communications and PR campaigns across both traditional and digital channels, including social media
• Experienced in managing multiple stakeholders at all levels of an organisation including board level
• Ability to understand complex information and translate it into market leading communications
• Confident in managing and presenting to senior stakeholders

The Cell Therapy Catapult is focussed on the translation of promising cell-based therapies into the next generation of healthcare. It was established in late 2012 by the Technology Strategy Board, one of a seven-strong Catapult network of world-leading technology and innovation centres of excellence, set up to help businesses take innovative ideas through to commercialisation. The global commercial cell therapy industry was estimated to have an annual turnover of $1bn in 2011, and is estimated to grow to $20bn by 2025. The Catapult's vision is for the UK to be a global leader in the development, delivery and commercialisation of cell therapy.
The offices are based in Central London.
