Senior Planner - Internal Marketing Agency
“It’s about the future development of Marketing communication programmes for the National Trust.” Simple? You might have thought so but you’d be wrong. Our purpose is clear – to look after special places for ever for everyone – but we’re a complex organisation with a massive variety of stakeholder needs. We’re embedding a planning function in our internal marketing agency and we need a Senior Planner to join a small expert team.
About the role
You’ll take a lead in our CRM thinking and strategy. Working on major campaigns and projects you’ll operate with a range of stakeholders up to Executive level. You’ll drive through change and meet customer demand by translating complex business requirements into the application of marketing comms strategy and tactics.
Our Marketing customer profile is very broad – from holidays to visitor services, from members to donors, from fund raising to retail and catering. No matter what the area you’ll ensure the work we undertake builds upon and is consistent with the Trust’s key brand messages. You’ll look at our overall communications performance – our agency outputs, their effectiveness and use – and establish key performance indicators and embed evaluation into business as usual.
We won’t be too prescriptive about your sector background but you’ve done something similar before. In-house is great but you’ll also have agency experience – in planning. We’re going to expect you to have an in-depth knowledge of consumer behaviour and have experience of both the application and effect of a full range of media channels. This role takes a lead on our CRM activities so experience of developing propositions and programmes in this area is essential.
Of course if you’ve experience of the not for profit or charity sectors then so much the better. Either way we will want to establish your appreciation and understanding of our work and purpose.
This is a rare and outstanding opportunity to join an in house agency team at one of the best known brands in England, Wales and Northern Ireland.
Do great things for us and we’ll do great things for you and your career. We’ll give you all the training, support and continued professional development you need, and we appreciate that work/life balance is important. You can also look forward to free admission to all our incredible places, and a helpful 20% off at our shops, cafes and restaurants. But they’re just the benefits we can tell you about here. There are lots more at www.nationaltrustrewardsandbenefits.org.uk
We’re a charity founded in 1895 by three people who saw the importance of our nation’s heritage and open spaces and wanted to preserve them for everyone to enjoy. Over 100 years later these values are still at the heart of everything we do. We want people of all ages and backgrounds to enjoy, be inspired by and love the places we look after as much as we do. We want everyone in England, Wales and Northern Ireland to feel like a member of the National Trust and, by 2020, we want to have grown our membership to more than five million.
