Campaign Planner - Internal Marketing Agency
“It’s about the future development of Marketing communication programmes for the National Trust.” Simple? You might have thought so but you’d be wrong. Our purpose is clear – to look after special places for ever for everyone – but we’re a complex organisation with a massive variety of stakeholder needs. We’re embedding a planning function in our internal marketing agency and we need a Campaign Planner to join a small expert team.
About the role
Reporting into the Head of Marketing Planning you’ll be responsible for combining business objectives with audience insights to create compelling propositions and thereby successful campaigns. And that includes evaluating performance.
Of course you’ll have strong communication skills – you’ll play a key role in designing and building our Marketing communications plan across all our channels. Then you’ll take ownership and accountability for that plan going forward.
Our Marketing customer profile is very broad – from holidays to visitor services, from members to donors, from fundraising to retail and catering. No matter what the area you’ll ensure the work we undertake builds upon and is consistent with the Trust’s key brand messages.
We won’t be too prescriptive about your sector background but you’ve done something similar before. In-house is great but you‘ll also have agency experience. We’re going to expect you to have a good understanding of marketing planning and its role in increasing business delivery of key performance indicators. That means you’ll evidence strong commercial acumen and will be used to having a deep understanding of consumer behaviour.
Of course if you’ve experience of the not for profit or charity sectors then so much the better. Either way we will want to establish your appreciation and understanding of our work and purpose.
